Kayak Demo Day and Kayak Symposium

Location: Lakeview Park in Lorain
The Backpackers Shop in conjunction with the Lorain County Metroparks will be holding a Kayak Symposium on Saturday, May 22nd at Lakeview Park in Lorain. In addition to our annual demo day, there will be on water kayak demonstrations on the hour from 10am-1pm. These demos will included paddling techniques, local paddling opportunities and other topics of interest. Please call for further details on the demo event and hope to see you there!
Sunnybrook beginner fly-fishing classes

Location: Sunnybrook Trout Club
Sandusky, Ohio
This class, which takes place at Sunnybrook Trout Club in Sandusky, will provide you with a foundation of the basic techniques, skills, and information to get you out on the water and catching fish! The classroom session will begin at 9AM, where we will explore many different fly-fishing techniques, how to tie knots, where to find fish, the insect life cycle, and cover basic equipment to get you started. After lunch, we will have 3-4 hours of on-stream fishing and casting instruction where you will have the opportunity to get out and catch some fish! Total cost is $125.00 per person, and lunch and stream fishing fees are included. Limit 6 per class.
